Robotech is a science fiction franchise that began with an 85-episode anime series in 1985. It was created by Harmony Gold USA and adapted from three separate Japanese anime series: Super Dimension Fortress Macross, Super Dimension Cavalry Southern Cross, and Genesis Climber MOSPEADA. The series follows humanity’s struggle against three successive alien invasions, using advanced Robotechnology derived from an alien starship that crashed on Earth.

The franchise expanded into novels, comics, video games, and films, including Robotech: The Movie (1986) and Robotech: The Shadow Chronicles (2006). The story is divided into three main sagas:

• The Macross Saga – Humanity’s first war against the Zentraedi, a race of giant humanoid warriors.

• The Masters Saga – A conflict with the Robotech Masters, who seek control of Earth’s Protoculture.

• The New Generation – A resistance movement against the Invid, an alien race that occupies Earth
