Chris Bunch (1943–2005) was an American author and screenwriter known for his works in science fiction, fantasy, and military fiction. He co-authored the popular Sten series with Allan Cole, which follows the adventures of a hero in a galactic empire. Bunch also wrote solo novels and series, including the Seer King Trilogy, Dragonmaster Trilogy, and Star Risk series, blending action, adventure, and speculative themes.

Before his writing career, Bunch served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, an experience that influenced his military-themed works like A Reckoning for Kings. He also contributed to television, writing scripts for shows like Magnum, P.I. and Walker, Texas Ranger
