Douglas Adams was a British author, humorist, and screenwriter, best known for creating The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. Originally a BBC radio comedy in 1978, it evolved into a series of novels, TV adaptations, stage plays, and even a feature film. His works are celebrated for their wit, satire, and imaginative storytelling. Adams also contributed to Doctor Who, wrote other novels like Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency, and co-authored humorous books such as The Meaning of Liff. Beyond writing, he was an advocate for environmentalism and a self-proclaimed “radical atheist”.
