F. M. Busby (1921–2005) was an American science fiction writer and fan, known for his contributions to both amateur and professional realms of the genre. He began his career in science fiction fandom, co-editing the award-winning fanzine Cry of the Nameless, which won the Hugo Award for Best Fanzine in 1960.
Busby transitioned to professional writing later in life, publishing his first novel, Cage a Man, in 1973. He is best known for the Demu Trilogy and the Rissa Kerguelen series, which feature strong character development and engaging space opera themes. His works often explored complex societal and personal issues, blending speculative fiction with thought-provoking narratives.
