James Axler is a house pseudonym used by Gold Eagle Publishing for several post-apocalyptic action-adventure series, most notably Deathlands and Outlanders. The Deathlands series began in 1986 with Pilgrimage to Hell, co-written by Christopher Lowder and Laurence James. Laurence James went on to write many of the early novels in the series. The Outlanders series, created by Mark Ellis, expanded the universe further.
