Robert Buettner is an American author known for his military science fiction novels. A former U.S. Army intelligence officer and National Science Foundation Fellow in Paleontology, Buettner brings a unique blend of scientific knowledge and military experience to his writing. His debut novel, Orphanage (2004), was a Quill Award nominee and is often compared to Robert Heinlein’s Starship Troopers. It is the first book in the Jason Wander series, which follows humanity’s fight against an alien invasion.

Buettner has also written the Orphan’s Legacy series, standalone novels like The Golden Gate and My Enemy’s Enemy.
