Allan Cole (1943–2019), an American novelist and television writer best known for his science fiction and fantasy collaborations with Chris Bunch.
Together, they co-wrote the Sten Chronicles, a politically charged space opera series that critiques monarchies and power structures through the eyes of a working-class hero. They also created The Far Kingdoms fantasy series and co-authored historical novels like A Reckoning for Kings. On his own, Cole penned the Timura Trilogy and thrillers like Dying Good.
Beyond books, he wrote over 100 television episodes for shows like Magnum, P.I., The Rockford Files, and Walker, Texas Ranger. His background—growing up around the world as the son of a CIA operative—infused his work with global perspective and intrigue.
