Brian Daley (1947–1996) was an American science fiction author best known for The Han Solo Adventures, the first Star Wars spin-off novels, which expanded Han Solo’s backstory before he joined the Rebel Alliance. He also adapted the original Star Wars trilogy into acclaimed radio dramas for NPR.

Beyond Star Wars, Daley co-wrote over 20 Robotech novels with James Luceno under the pseudonym Jack McKinney, and penned original series like The Doomfarers of Coramonde and The Black Hole Travel Agency. His work combined space opera flair with humor and adventure, earning him a devoted fan base.
