Brian Herbert (born 1947) is an American science fiction author best known for continuing the Dune universe created by his father, Frank Herbert. Working frequently with co-author Kevin J. Anderson, he has expanded the Dune saga with numerous prequels and sequels based on his father’s notes.

Brian Herbert’s main impact has been preserving and expanding one of science fiction’s most important franchises. His work helped introduce Dune to newer generations of readers and kept the universe active in modern science fiction publishing. Through his biography of Frank Herbert, he also contributed to documenting the history of one of the genre’s most influential authors.
